Exploring the legend and reality of Charles Kingsford Smith was a national and international hero for his flying achievements. Think of today’s most famous celebrities and heroes and that was Smithy in his own day. But what sort of a person was he? What were the characteristics and qualities that helped make him an Australian hero? This activity, which is provided courtesy of the National Museum, Canberra, helps participants to find the real Smithy through a process of providing information ("sources") about him and then posing questions. Working through the activity This activity consists of 24 questions which are interspersed with information. Images are provided to help with assimilation of the information.
