Success and failure in the port of Singapore—Z Special Unit and the Jaywick and Rimau raids

In 1943 and 1944, Australian special forces launched two seaborne attacks on Japanese shipping in Singapore Harbour, Operation Jaywick and Operation Rimau. The attacks were characterised by stealth and audacity; one was wildly successful, the other resulted in the loss of all participants for little or no result.

Working through the activity

This activity requires the preparation of a report comparing the two operations, which are described in detail in the activity material. The activity is completely self-contained within a single, 6 page Acrobat™ file (176kb).
