2005 is the 90th Anniversary of the ANZAC landing at Gallipoli: What can we do to acknowledge this historical milestone at this year's ANZAC Day commemoration ceremonies? To commemorate the 90th Anniversary of the ANZAC landing at Gallipoli on 25 April 1915, the ANZAC Day Commemoration Committee of Queensland invites all Australian committees responsible for organising their local ANZAC Day Ceremony to consider playing the New Zealand National Anthem, God Defend New Zealand, in conjunction with our own National Anthem as a fitting tribute to the united efforts of the Australian and New Zealand troops who went ashore at ANZAC Cove 90 years ago. (Note: Protocol demands that the Australian Anthem must always be played last). For those who wish to participate, the sheet music and words in both English and Maori are available on this site [click here].
